Nissan get creative with Twitter

17 May

Although Twitter is a platform that allows real-time updates to reach a large volume of people, the question often is – what’s the impact? Did anyone SEE your Tweet and was it amplified – 3 retweets isn’t anything to brag about. But Micra’s recent use of the Twitter API managed to connect offline and with online and helped people along the way -of course spreading news of the new Nissan Micra in the process.

Just goes to show there’s plenty of ways to use Twitter creatively and that it really is a platform that social business should utilise.

Before You Begin – Understand Your Vision

Bringing your idea to life

There’s nothing worse than having the perfect idea inside you head, but finding out it fails to materialise.

This can happen for several reasons, but are mainly because:
You don’t have the right team to make things happen, you haven’t clearly thought through the strategy, and most importantly, you fail to give the appropriate creative brief. Whether you are a designer or a client, an effective design brief is the single most critical factor in ensuring that a project is successful.

People talk a lot about goals and objectives, but often it’s an after sight of formulated once an idea is in motion. To ensure you will achieve a close replica of your mental image it’s essential to know what a good brief consists of, how to write one and overall, before putting any pen to paper, thinking your core objectives and desirable outcome through in your head.
With an accurate benchmark, firm grasp of budget and time restrictions and understanding what you and your target audience will want, your creative vision should come to life, just as it appeared in your head!

Here is some further guidance and tips on how to write the perfect brief

Social Media Advertising and Facebook – Where do I Start?

14 Apr

Most of us now use Facebook. Whether you love it or hate it, there is no denying Facebook can be a valuable social channel for promoting your business.

That’s not to say it’s for everyone. A social media strategy is only appropriate for businesses that have the relevant target audience. There’s nothing worse than setting up a Facebook page for your business and neglect it, causing potential consumers searching for you online to stumble across it and conclude you’re not in fact viable, interesting or capable. Management of a true fan page takes a lot of time, care and attention, as well as fresh content that keeps your fans engaged and motivated to share the news with others.

In order to do this, you need to build a loyal fan base. It will take a while to attract followers, but using Facebook tabs, apps, competitions and takeovers, you can easily get the traction you’re after. There are Facebook guidelines that you must adhere to, but with the right advice and understanding Facebook is a powerful platform to command attention from your fans and better yet, peak the interest of those that don’t yet know about you.

Here’s a quick case study to show what we did with the ‘Shank- The Film’. Though a small budget production, by utilising the right Facebook strategy and techniques, the ‘Shank’ Facebook fan page generated a strong following in just under 2 months and a hub to drive conversation and anticipation of film’s impending release.
